The Eternal Sloptember
This post more or less reads like how I feel. The author seems to have had more problems with the generated code than I have, possibly, but I know where they're coming from and feel the same sense of concern.
Watching the "Copilot is inserting adverts into PRs!" thing do the rounds was kind of wild, because it obviously wasn't. It obviously was inserting what the team throught were useful tips, and it had been doing it for a wee while.
This comment confirms what I felt was the case there.
In agentic circles I am seeing a degree of cope where folk are saying that good software development was all about the spec all along, and all you need is the spec.
Really though? Really?
The blog post that explains the background of the horrific Ocaml AI-written PR. Honestly... this feels like some post hoc rationalisation cope rather than a coming clean of an honest attempt to test something out.
I'm not convinced at all.
